Multi-coated glass with resistance coating

Multi-coating greatly reduces lens flare and ghosting caused by internal reflections, maintaining contrast in bright conditions. A resistance coating repels water, oil, dust and fingerprints, allowing contaminants to be removed with a gentle wipe. The brass filter ring screws on and off effortlessly without binding.

Limits of UV filtration on digital sensors

Modern digital sensors are largely insensitive to ultraviolet light, so the filter's primary optical effect is haze reduction in specific atmospheric conditions rather than a general image-quality improvement. The 99% light transmission figure represents the practical ceiling for glass substrates, meaning a minimal but unavoidable fraction of light is always lost. It does not alter colour balance or exposure settings.
