1-to-4 Gigabit Expansion

Turn one RJ45 uplink into four RJ45 downlinks so up to four wired devices can share a single Ethernet drop. The switch targets home offices, dorm rooms and small-business desks where a laptop, printer, smart TV and desktop all need simultaneous wired connectivity. A 5 V USB-C power cable is included for stable always-on operation.

Gigabit RJ45 Interface Limits

Each port negotiates at 10, 100 or 1000 Mbps and accepts Cat5 through Cat8 cables with standard RJ45 plugs. The uplink runs at 10/100 Mbps, so the aggregate throughput cannot exceed 100 Mbps even though the downlinks are gigabit capable. Jumbo frames up to 9216 bytes pass through the 768 KB buffer without fragmentation.

Four-Port Capacity and Headroom

Four devices can communicate at once, but the 100 Mbps uplink becomes the bottleneck when total traffic exceeds that rate. The switch forwards at 1 gigabit per second internally, so short bursts between downlinks stay fast, yet sustained multi-stream transfers will queue at the uplink. No PoE, management or SNMP features are present.

Questions about this item

How many devices can I connect to the ProSafe 1-to-4 switch at once?

The switch provides four RJ45 output ports from a single input, letting you connect up to four devices simultaneously for wired networking.

What does the 1000Mbps rating mean for everyday use?

It supports up to 1000Mbps data transfer when paired with gigabit-capable equipment and cables, helping reduce bottlenecks during streaming, gaming or large file transfers.

Does the USB-C power port limit the switch to a specific Ethernet standard?

The USB-C connector supplies 5V power for stable operation; the RJ45 ports handle the network traffic and work with Cat8, Cat7, Cat6, Cat5e and Cat5 cables.
