A compact five-port Gigabit switch powered by USB-C for silent, plug-and-play wired expansion
The ProSafe GS105U adds five 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports to a network using a USB-C power jack instead of a wall adapter. It targets home offices, dorm rooms and travel kits where AC outlets are scarce and silent operation matters. The unmanaged, fanless design requires no software or configuration. Auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX handle cable detection automatically.
The switch forwards packets at a rate of 1000 megabytes per second and supports jumbo frames up to 9216 bytes for larger data payloads. As an unmanaged device it maintains consistent wire-speed switching across all five ports without the variability introduced by management overhead. Passive PoE compliance is listed in the standards data. The USB-C power input delivers the energy needed for sustained operation.
A plastic enclosure with no moving parts ensures completely silent running in bedrooms, studios or quiet offices. The energy-efficient architecture keeps power consumption low while delivering full Gigabit performance on every port. USB-C powering reduces cable clutter and eliminates the need for a separate AC brick. The compact footprint suits desktop or mobile use where space and noise are constrained.

The fanless plastic case runs silently with no moving parts, so it adds no audible noise or measurable heat to a desk even during continuous Gigabit traffic.
You need a USB-C power adapter or a powered USB-C port capable of supplying the switch; the unit ships without a dedicated power brick.
Yes, every port supports auto-negotiation and Auto MDI/MDIX, so legacy 10/100 devices connect at their rated speed without manual setup.
