What this adapter does

The PWRON 9V AC DC adapter is a replacement power supply for the RadioShack PRO-404 scanner model 20-4041. It converts mains electricity into the DC voltage the radio requires. The unit is intended for owners who need a new or spare charger for home use.

How it fits into your setup

The adapter accepts AC 100-240V at 50-60Hz, so it works with household outlets worldwide without a voltage selector. A 6.6FT cable reaches from a wall socket to a desk or shelf, freeing the scanner from battery dependence during long monitoring sessions. Verify the output tip matches the radio before connecting.

Behaviour during extended use

Built-in over-voltage and over-heat protection activate if the supply is stressed during continuous operation. The manufacturer advises keeping the unit in a ventilated area and away from skin-contact surfaces when it runs for long periods. Stop use immediately if any abnormal condition appears.
