Before ordering, confirm that the DC output voltage and the tip size match the original adapter exactly. The product notes specify checking the output and connector dimensions against the pictures shown. Using an incorrect tip or voltage can damage the external hard drive.

Thermal behaviour under load

The adapter features over-voltage and over-heat protection for sustained operation. The supplier advises keeping the unit in a ventilated area with suitable humidity during long use. Do not place the adapter on skin surfaces or insulated materials while it is powered.

Questions about this item

Does the adapter come with the power cord and the DC tip, or must the cord be purchased separately?

The package includes one new AC DC adapter power charger with a 6.6FT cable; no separate cord is required.

How do I confirm this adapter matches the 9ZC2A3-500 or 9ZC2A3-501 part numbers on my Seagate FreeAgent Desk 500GB drive?

The adapter is listed as 100% compatible with both P/N 9ZC2A3-500 and 9ZC2A3-501; verify the DC output voltage and tip size shown in the pictures before ordering.

What does the 100-240V input range mean when I plug the adapter into a wall outlet at home?

The adapter accepts any mains voltage between 100V and 240V at 50-60Hz, so it works worldwide without a voltage converter.
