Four-port 8Gbps Fibre Channel HBA

The QLogic QLE2564 is a quad-port Fibre Channel host bus adapter that connects servers or workstations to 8Gbps storage fabrics through a PCI Express x8 slot. It suits environments that need multiple simultaneous fabric links from a single add-in card.

Check slot width and SFP modules

Verify the host system has a free PCI Express x8 or wider slot and that the operating system or hypervisor includes a driver for this QLogic model. Each of the four ports requires a compatible SFP transceiver, which is not included with the card.

Green PCB with quad SFP cages

The adapter is built on a green printed circuit board and presents four SFP cages along the bracket for direct fibre cabling. The x8 edge connector seats firmly in standard server chassis, and the low-profile bracket fits both full-height and low-profile brackets when the appropriate bracket is fitted.

Questions about this item

Does the QLE2564 include the SFP transceivers needed for the four fibre-channel ports, or must they be purchased separately?

The card provides four SFP ports; transceivers are not included and must be sourced separately.

How do I decide between a single-port, dual-port or this four-port 8 Gbps HBA for my server?

Choose the four-port QLE2564 when you need four independent 8 Gbps fibre-channel links from a single PCIe x8 slot.

What does the 8 Gbps per port rate mean for actual throughput in a live system?

Each port delivers up to 8 Gbps fibre-channel bandwidth; aggregate throughput depends on the host PCIe x8 link and storage configuration.
