Six-port managed switch

The Qnap QSW-M2106-4C-US is a layer 2 managed switch with ten ports in total. Six ports operate at 2.5GbE with 1G and 100M fallback. Four combo ports accept 10G SFP+ modules or NBASE-T connections at 10G, 5G, 2.5G, 1G and 100M. Management is handled through a web browser interface.

Capacity and headroom

Six copper ports give 2.5GbE bandwidth to workstations, NAS units or access points. The four combo ports provide 10G uplinks or direct 10G device links when SFP+ modules are fitted. NBASE-T support lets the combo ports step down to 5G or 2.5G over existing cabling. The switch runs out of 10G ports if more than four high-speed links are required simultaneously.

Thermals noise and power

The unit is fanless so it produces no audible noise in normal operation. Heat is dissipated passively through the metal chassis. Power draw scales with the number of active 10G and 2.5G links but remains within the limits of the supplied external adapter. No active cooling maintenance is needed.
