16-bay 3U JBOD chassis

The Qnap TL-R1600PES-RP-US is a 3U rackmount enclosure that holds sixteen 3.5-inch SATA drives. It connects to a compatible QNAP NAS through a Mini-SAS HD SFF-8644 link for direct capacity expansion.

Suits NAS owners needing petabyte-scale growth

This unit fits administrators who want to add raw SATA capacity behind an existing QuTS hero or QTS system using a PCIe expansion card. It is not for users who need a standalone server, who require SAS drives, or who lack the host-side Mini-SAS HD connection.

Mini-SAS HD SFF-8644 host interface

The single in/out Mini-SAS HD SFF-8644 port is the only link to the host NAS and determines whether the enclosure can be attached. Verify that the NAS has a matching PCIe card with the same connector before purchase.
