LTO Ultrium 4 tape cartridge

This Quantum MR-L4MQN-01 cartridge provides 800 GB native capacity and 1.60 TB compressed capacity for LTO-4 tape drives. It suits organisations that archive large data sets on linear tape media.

Half-height drive slot insertion

The cartridge slides into any LTO-4 half-height drive with a SAS interface without tools or cabling. Misalignment can damage the leader pin, so insert straight until the latch clicks.

LTO-4 format limits

Native throughput and compressed capacity depend on the drive's dynamic rate matching and the host's sustained data rate. The cartridge cannot exceed 800 GB native or 1.60 TB compressed, and it does not support LTO-5 or later formats.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the tape is writing data correctly after installation?

Verify the backup job completes without errors and the reported capacity matches the 800 GB native or 1.60 TB compressed figure for this LTO Ultrium 4 cartridge.

What comes with the MR-L4MQN-01 and what must I supply?

The cartridge is the only item included; you must provide a compatible LTO-4 half-height tape drive with a SAS interface.

Should I choose the 800 GB or 1.60 TB version for my archive?

There is only one version; each cartridge holds 800 GB native and up to 1.60 TB when hardware compression is enabled on the drive.
