Product Identity

The RAAYOO D004-FT is a 3.5 inch external floppy disk drive that connects through USB Type-A or USB Type-C. It is built for users who need to read or write legacy 3.5 inch diskettes on modern laptops and desktops that lack an internal drive.

Deciding Specification

The drive uses a USB 2.0 interface and requires no extra power supply or driver installation on supported Windows systems. It is not compatible with macOS, so buyers using Apple computers must choose a different solution.

Who It Suits

This unit suits anyone with archives of 3.5 inch floppies containing photos, documents or other legacy files who works exclusively on Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 7, Vista, XP or 2000. It does not suit macOS users or buyers who need to access 5.25 inch or other non-standard disk formats.

Questions about this item

What does the USB 2.0 rating mean for transfer speed in this drive?

The USB 2.0 interface sets the maximum link speed, but the 3.5 inch floppy media itself limits actual read and write rates to well below that ceiling.

Which USB connectors does the D004-FT provide?

It has both USB Type-A and USB Type-C plugs on a single cable, so it fits older and newer ports without an adapter.

How much desk space does the frosted-texture unit need?

The drive measures 0.67 inch thick and weighs 0.61 Ib, making it slim and light enough to carry in a laptop bag.
