Portable laptop stand for 15-inch devices

The Rain Design PTAZ40-1 is a mini aluminium stand built for 15-inch notebooks such as the MacBook Air and MacBook Pro. It weighs 2.1 oz and measures 5 x 4 x 0.5 cm, so it fits inside a sleeve or pocket. The zinc-alloy triangle frame and rubber feet keep the laptop steady on a desk.

Peel-and-stick attachment with 3M adhesive

Installation consists of cleaning the laptop base, peeling the liner and pressing the stand into place. The adhesive bonds permanently; removal will leave residue and may damage the finish. No screws, tools or adjustments are required, but repositioning after the initial press is not practical.

Passive cooling under sustained load

The aluminium body acts as a thermal pad while the 15-degree forward tilt and open underside promote airflow. During long work sessions the stand helps dissipate heat without fans or power. It raises the screen by roughly 1 inch to improve posture during extended typing.

Questions about this item

How do I know the PTAZ40-1 stand is positioned correctly for cooling?

The 15° forward-tilt angle and open design create airflow under the laptop; if the device runs cooler during use, the stand is working as intended.

What comes in the package and what must I supply?

The box contains the mini laptop stand only; no tools or adhesives are included and nothing extra is required for basic use.

Which capacity suits a 15-inch MacBook Air or Pro?

The stand supports devices up to 15 inches, so the single size listed fits both MacBook Air and MacBook Pro models of that screen size.
