Brass Knife-Blade Disconnect
This battery disconnect switch uses a solid brass body rated for 250 A continuous and 750 A momentary current at 12 V or 24 V. The knife-blade handle isolates the operator from live parts while cutting power with a simple lift motion. It mounts directly on the negative terminal of vehicle batteries found in cars, RVs, ATVs, yachts, vans and trucks.
Terminal Fit Limits
The clamp accepts negative posts measuring 15.5 mm to 17 mm in diameter, which covers most standard automotive top-post batteries. Larger marine or commercial terminals will not fit inside the jaws, and smaller motorcycle posts may not clamp securely. The overall footprint is 9.2 cm by 8.6 cm by 3.3 cm, so tight battery trays should be measured before ordering.
250 A Continuous Rating
The single figure that decides suitability is the 250 A continuous current rating; systems drawing more than this under normal operation will overheat the brass contacts. Installations with winches, large inverters or starter motors that exceed 250 A steady load need a higher-rated isolator instead.

Questions about this item
Does the 250 A continuous rating match my 12 V system load?
The switch is rated for 250 A continuous and 750 A momentary at 12 V, so it will handle typical starter and accessory currents on a 12 V vehicle battery.
What does the 750 A momentary figure mean in practice?
It allows short surges up to 750 A such as engine cranking, while the 250 A rating covers sustained loads like winches or inverters.
How does the knife-blade mechanism connect to the battery post?
The brass blade clamps directly onto a negative terminal of 15.5–17 mm diameter, and the isolated handle lifts to break the circuit.
