32-key gaming keypad

The Razer Tartarus V2 is a 32-key gaming keypad designed for players who want dedicated macro and movement controls separate from a standard keyboard. Its Mecha-Membrane switches deliver tactile feedback with a soft-cushioned feel. An 8-way directional thumbpad adds analog-style movement input for console-oriented titles. The detachable palm rest adjusts to two positions for extended comfort.

Sustained macro execution

Each of the 32 keys is fully programmable with unlimited macro length, allowing complex command chains to be bound to a single press. Razer Hypershift mode effectively doubles the command layer by letting a held key remap every other key. This architecture supports continuous skill rotations and multi-step ability combos without finger travel across a full-size board. The USB wired connection maintains consistent polling during long sessions.

Chroma lighting and thermals

Razer Chroma provides per-key RGB backlighting with 16.8 million colour options, synchronised across supported games and partner ecosystems. The Mecha-Membrane switches run cool under repeated actuation, and the low-profile design produces minimal acoustic signature compared with clicky mechanical alternatives. Power is drawn directly from the USB port, requiring no external supply.

Questions about this item

Does the Mecha-Membrane switch design keep the keypad quiet and cool during all-day gaming sessions?

The Mecha-Membrane keys actuate at mid-height with a soft cushioned touch and tactile click, producing moderate sound and minimal heat during extended use.

What computer port is required to use the 32 programmable keys and Chroma lighting?

A single USB port provides both power and data for the 32 keys, thumbpad, and 16.8 million color Chroma backlighting.

Will the 8-way thumbpad and Hypershift macros work alongside my older standard keyboard?

Yes, the keypad operates as a separate USB input device so the thumbpad, 32 keys, and Hypershift layer function independently of any other keyboard.
