Redragon K686 HE full-size keyboard

The Redragon K686 HE is a full-size wired gaming keyboard built around UltraMag magnetic switches and 8K hyper-polling. It targets competitive players who want adjustable actuation and rapid trigger response in a standard layout with a control knob. The 98-key arrangement keeps dedicated function and navigation clusters for productivity tasks.

UltraMag switches and rapid trigger setup

The UltraMag switches use a dual-module floating structure with 100% POM housings for smooth, stable keystrokes. Actuation can be tuned between 0.1 and 3.4 mm in 0.1 mm steps through the companion software, though the 0.1-0.2 mm range may vary with component tolerances. Rapid trigger mode enables dynamic key activation and deactivation for faster repeat inputs. A detachable USB-A to USB-C cable connects the board.

Check USB port and software needs

Verify your system has an available USB-A port for the detachable cable connection. The 8,000 Hz polling rate delivers 0.125 ms latency, so confirm your OS and motherboard USB controller support high-rate HID devices. The pro software for RGB customisation, actuation curves and rapid trigger profiles is downloaded from the vendor site and requires a Windows environment.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 8,000 Hz polling rate is active after connecting the keyboard?

The keyboard transmits inputs at up to 8,000 Hz (0.125 ms latency) via the detachable USB-A to USB-C cable; verify the rate in the Redragon software once installed.

What comes with the K686 HE and what must I provide?

The box includes the full-size 98-key keyboard with knob and a detachable USB-A to USB-C cable; no extra accessories or tools are required for operation.

Which actuation range should I pick for competitive shooters versus typing?

Use the software to set the actuation point between 0.1 mm and 3.4 mm; lower values (0.1–0.2 mm) suit rapid-trigger gaming, while higher settings feel more deliberate for typing.
