Bio-Synthetic 30W engine oil

Renewable Lubricants 85243 is a bio-synthetic SAE 30W engine oil formulated for diesel and gasoline engines in passenger cars, SUVs, light-duty trucks and motorsport vehicles. The one-gallon jug meets API categories from SJ through CK-4 and ACEA E2-96, E5-02 and E7-02 standards. It includes corrosion and oxidation inhibitors and is EPA 2007 compliant and biodegradable.

Replaces conventional mineral 30W oils

Switching from a conventional mineral 30W oil is worth it when longer drain intervals, reduced deposit formation or a biodegradable fluid are required. The bio-synthetic base stock and broad additive package support mixed fleets running both diesel and gasoline powerplants. It is not for applications that demand a multi-grade viscosity or a lower cold-temperature rating.

Limits of the SAE 30W grade

A single-grade SAE 30W oil maintains its rated viscosity at operating temperature but thickens significantly in cold weather, making winter starts harder without a block heater. The jug format suits top-ups and small sumps but becomes impractical for large-capacity diesel crankcases needing many gallons per change. Compatibility is limited to engines specifying SAE 30W and the listed API or ACEA ratings.
