Quad PCIe 4.0 x16 Adapter for Four M.2 NVMe Drives

This adapter adds four M.2 M-key slots to a single PCIe 4.0 x16 slot using bifurcation. It supports NVMe SSDs in 2242, 2260 and 2280 lengths. A large aluminium heatsink covers the drives to manage thermals. The card targets workstations and servers that need high-density local storage without occupying multiple expansion slots.

Bifurcation and BIOS Support Are Mandatory

The host platform must split the x16 link into four x4 lanes and expose that split in firmware. Without both hardware and BIOS bifurcation the adapter will not detect all four drives. Operating temperature is rated from 5°C to 50°C and storage temperature from -25°C to 70°C. Humidity tolerance spans 15% to 90% non-condensing.

Replaces Multiple Single-Slot M.2 Cards

One x16 slot now serves four drives, freeing three expansion slots for other add-in cards. The jump is worthwhile when the motherboard and CPU provide native x4/x4/x4/x4 bifurcation and the chassis can accommodate the 150 mm by 106 mm board with its 134 mm by 94 mm heatsink. Builders without bifurcation support cannot use this adapter.
