What this dash cam records

The Rexing V1GW-4K captures 2160p video through a 170 degree ultra-wide lens with a seven-layer glass construction. Built-in GPS logs time, speed and location data alongside the footage. A 2.4 inch LCD screen lets you review clips on the device. It accepts microSD cards up to 256 GB capacity.

Heat tolerance and power

A supercapacitor replaces a conventional battery and operates from -20 to 176°F without overheating risk. The unit draws power continuously from the supplied car charger; the car USB port may not deliver enough current. The capacitor only provides emergency file backup during sudden power loss.

Mounting and daily use

The camera measures 5.5 by 5.25 by 3.75 inches and weighs 1.00 lb. Loop recording overwrites the oldest files when the card fills. A G-sensor locks footage when an impact is detected. Wi-Fi connects to a mobile app for wireless clip transfer and settings changes. Format the card in the camera before first use.

Questions about this item

How do I mount the Rexing V1GW-4K on my windscreen and what step do people often miss?

Attach the camera using the supplied adhesive or suction bracket, plug the included car charger into the vehicle power outlet, insert a Class 10 or UHS-I microSD card up to 256 GB, then format the card in the camera before recording.

What maintenance will the Rexing V1GW-4K need over time?

The supercapacitor handles extreme temperatures from -20 to 176 °F without degradation, so no battery replacement is required; periodically reformat the microSD card in the camera and check for firmware updates to maintain reliability.

What is the first limit I will hit during long, continuous drives with the Rexing V1GW-4K?

The 256 GB microSD card capacity fills first; with 4K 2160p footage the card will reach its limit and loop recording will overwrite the oldest unlocked files unless you offload clips via the Wi-Fi app.
