Gas Water Heater Control 2-Inch Shank
The Rheem SP14270K is a replacement gas water heater control designed for residential natural gas units. It regulates burner operation through an integrated thermostat to maintain set water temperatures. Homeowners and plumbers use it to restore function on compatible Rheem heaters when the original control fails.
Replaces Faulty Factory Thermostat Control
This part replaces a worn or malfunctioning original equipment control on matching Rheem models. The jump is worth it when the existing thermostat no longer holds temperature, the gas valve fails to open, or the pilot cannot stay lit. It restores safe ignition sequencing without replacing the entire heater assembly.
Fits Natural Gas Heaters With 2-Inch Shank
The control threads into a 2-inch shank opening on the tank and connects to the existing gas supply line, pilot tube, and thermocouple. It requires a natural gas supply and proper venting already present in the installation. The unit frees the system from temperature drift and ignition failure caused by the old control.
