79 mm bi-metal hole saw with mandrel and pilot drill cuts metal, plastic and wood using M3 high-speed steel teeth with 4/6 variable pitch and an EZE slot for plug removal
This 79 mm bi-metal hole saw from RICHELIEU cuts metal, plastic and wood with a 4/6 variable tooth pitch. M3 high-speed steel teeth are electron-beam welded to a heavy-duty backing plate for rigidity and consistent hardness. The set includes a screw-in mandrel and pilot drill for immediate use. It suits tradespeople who need a single large-diameter cutter for mixed materials.
A variable 4/6 pitch replaces fixed-pitch blades that chatter in thick metal or bind in wood. The heavy-duty backing plate reduces flex that causes wandering on deep cuts. The jump is worth it when you regularly cut holes 45 mm and larger across different substrates and want one blade that handles all three without swapping.
The screw-in mandrel locks onto the saw in seconds and fits standard drill chucks. On diameters 45 mm and up the EZE slot lets you lever the slug out with a screwdriver instead of prying. The common error is running the pilot drill too fast, which dulls the tip and makes the hole wander off-centre.

The supplied screw-in mandrel fits standard drill chucks that accept its shank; match the chuck capacity to the mandrel shank before use.
Thread the hole saw onto the mandrel until the drive pins engage the saw’s mounting holes, then tighten the locking collar — skipping the pin engagement leaves the saw loose.
Replace the pilot bit when its tip wears dull or wanders off-centre, because a worn pilot prevents the 4/6 variable-tooth blade from starting cleanly.
