Questions about this item

How do I install the 8/32 mounting screws and what step is commonly missed?

Drill a pilot hole, thread the 8/32 screw through the door or drawer front into the knob base, then tighten; the step often missed is attaching the removable backplate before final tightening.

What part of the BP224840140 knob will need replacement first under normal use?

The chrome finish on the stepped embellishment and tapered base will show wear before the solid metal body or the 8/32 screws require replacement.

What is the first limitation that appears during sustained daily operation of this cabinet knob?

Repeated gripping can gradually dull the chrome surface on the 40 mm diameter knob, making the finish the first noticeable limit under heavy use.
