Outdoor surveillance camera

The Ring Spotlight Cam Pro is a plug-in outdoor camera that streams 1080p HDR video with colour night vision. It is designed for homeowners who want continuous power without battery changes and need advanced motion detection that distinguishes people from vehicles.

Simple plug-in setup

Installation only requires a standard power outlet and a Wi-Fi connection through the Ring app. The main difficulty is ensuring the mounting location has both a reachable socket and a strong dual-band Wi-Fi signal; weak coverage will cause delayed alerts or dropped live view.

Wi-Fi bandwidth and cloud reliance

The camera depends entirely on your home Wi-Fi for every function, so network congestion or an internet outage stops recording and live streaming. Video history also requires an active Ring Protect subscription; without it you only get real-time viewing and no stored clips.
