Deluxe Sock Aid for Independent Dressing

The RMS BD15252 Deluxe Sock Aid helps individuals put on regular socks without bending down. It is designed for people with limited mobility, weak hand strength or those recovering from surgery. The contoured shell suits foot widths up to five inches and works with ankle, knee, calf-length, athletic and dress socks. It is not compatible with compression socks or compression stockings.

Shell Capacity and Cord Adjustment

The flexible plastic shell measures 9.5 inches long and accommodates a range of regular sock types for men and women. A slip-resistant foam pad keeps the sock in place during application. The overall length with cords is 38 inches, and the ropes can be shortened by tying new knots to suit individual reach requirements.

Practical Limits of the Assistive Design

This device is intended only for regular socks and cannot be used with compression hosiery. Users must be able to grip the foam handles and pull the cords to slide the sock onto the foot. The fixed shell dimensions limit use to feet measuring five inches wide or less, and the aid does not assist with putting on shoes.

Questions about this item

Will the 9.5" shell fit the regular ankle and knee socks I already own?

The contoured shell is designed for regular sock types including ankle, flat, knee, calf length, athletic and dress socks, and suits foot widths up to 5 inches.

How can I check that the adjustable ropes are working correctly after I set them up?

After tying the ropes to your preferred length, place a sock over the shell, insert your foot and pull the foam handles; the sock should slide on smoothly without the ropes slipping or the sock falling off the foam pad.

What comes with the BD15252 and do I need any extra pieces to use it?

The package includes the flexible contoured plastic shell measuring 9.5"L x 5"W x 3"H, two 38" adjustable cords with soft foam handles and a slip-resistant foam pad — everything needed for independent sock application.
