Ready-to-go Mechanical Gaming Keyboard

The ROCCAT Pyro is a full-size wired mechanical keyboard built for players who want responsive linear switches without extra software hassle. Its red switches actuate at 2.0 mm and are tested to 50 million presses for consistent performance. A brushed aluminum top plate adds rigidity and a premium feel. Per-key AIMO RGB lighting in 16.8 million colors works out of the box.

Thermals Noise and Power Draw

As a wired USB keyboard the Pyro draws negligible power and produces no measurable heat during normal use. Mechanical switch sound is typical for linear reds with a smooth bottom-out and no tactile click. The aluminum plate reduces hollowness and keeps acoustics consistent across the board. No active cooling or fan noise is present.

Upgrade Path and Who It Is Not For

The Pyro replaces a membrane or entry-level mechanical board when you need per-key RGB, anti-ghosting on the most-used keys and Easy-Shift[+] secondary functions via the Caps Lock modifier. The detachable palm rest supports both relaxed typing and aggressive gaming postures. It is not for users who require wireless connectivity, hot-swappable switches or dedicated macro keys. Buyers who want more storage or a second card should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

How do I install the Pyro keyboard and what step do people often miss?

Connect the USB cable to your PC; the keyboard works immediately, but you must install ROCCAT Swarm software to enable Easy-Shift[+] double-command layer and AIMO per-key RGB profiles.

What maintenance or replacement will the Pyro need later?

The linear red switches are rated for 50 million keystrokes, so under normal use they will not require replacement; occasional cleaning of the brushed aluminum top plate and keycaps keeps it performing.

What limit appears first during sustained heavy use?

Advanced anti-ghosting covers the most-used keys, so the first limit is that keys outside that optimised set may not all register simultaneously in extreme rollover scenarios.
