Rokinon 14mm f/2.8 AF for Canon EF

The Rokinon IO14AF-C is a 14mm f/2.8 ultra-wide prime lens designed for Canon EF-mount full-frame DSLRs. It features autofocus and a bright maximum aperture of f/2.8, stopping down to f/22. The optical construction uses fifteen elements in ten groups including one extra-low dispersion, two aspherical, and four high refractive index elements with ultra multi-coating. It weighs 1.55 units and offers a 116.6° angle of view.

Weather sealing and seven-blade diaphragm

This model introduces weather sealing for durability in challenging conditions. The rounded seven-blade diaphragm creates smooth bokeh and defined star effects when stopping down. The autofocus system uses a lightweight focusing group for fast, accurate, and quiet operation. Ultra multi-coated glass reduces flare and ghosting for high contrast images.

Landscape and astrophotography shooters needing AF

Photographers wanting autofocus on a wide prime for Canon EF full-frame bodies will benefit from the speed and sealing. Buyers requiring optical stabilization or a zoom range should look elsewhere. Users of Canon RF mirrorless cameras need an adapter not included here. Videographers needing powered focus control may find the manual focus ring operation limiting.

Questions about this item

How often should the weather sealing on this 14mm f/2.8 AF lens be inspected or replaced?

Rokinon does not publish a service interval for the weather sealing; keep the mount and gaskets clean and have a technician check them if you notice moisture inside the barrel.

What optical limit appears first when shooting wide open at f/2.8 for extended periods?

Corner softness and vignetting are most noticeable at maximum aperture; stopping down to f/5.6 or f/8 largely resolves both.

How much heat does the autofocus motor generate during continuous all-day operation?

The lightweight focusing group runs cool; the barrel warms only slightly and the motor stays quiet even after hours of constant use.
