Ultra-Wide AF Lens for Sony E Mount

The Rokinon IO14AF-E is a 14mm F2.8 autofocus prime built for full-frame Sony E-mount mirrorless cameras. It also covers APS-C sensors with a narrower field of view. The optical design uses 14 elements in 10 groups, including three aspherical and two ED elements with UMC anti-reactive coatings to control aberrations and flare. An integrated autofocus motor works with the camera's focusing system, and manual focus override is available for precise adjustments.

Mount and Sensor Compatibility Check

Verify that your camera uses the Sony E mount and that its sensor format matches your intended angle of view: 113.9 degrees on full frame or 89.8 degrees on APS-C. The lens has a fixed 14mm focal length and an aperture range of f/2.8 to f/22 with seven aperture blades. Minimum focusing distance is 7.9 inches. The package includes front and rear lens caps plus a protective case.

Handling During Extended Sessions

The all-metal housing weighs 1.47 units and balances well on compact mirrorless bodies for long periods of handheld shooting. The internal focusing mechanism maintains a constant overall length, so the centre of gravity does not shift as focus changes. Autofocus drive is quiet and measured, avoiding the rapid hunting that can drain camera batteries during video work or time-lapse sequences.

Questions about this item

Does the Rokinon IO14AF-E include a hood or filters, or must they be purchased separately?

The lens ships with front and rear caps plus a carrying case; a hood and any filters are not included and must be bought separately.

Should I choose this 14 mm f/2.8 for full-frame Sony E-mount or is there a different version for APS-C only?

This single version covers both formats — 113.9° on full-frame and 89.8° on APS-C — so no separate APS-C-only model is needed.

How close can the 14 mm f/2.8 focus when I am shooting interiors or astrophotography?

Minimum focusing distance is 7.9 inches, allowing close foreground detail while maintaining the ultra-wide 113.9° field of view on full-frame bodies.
