Questions about this item

Does the soft nylon shell and interior padding trap heat around a camera during all-day use?

The soft nylon shell and padded interior are designed for shock and dust protection, not thermal insulation, so they do not trap heat around the camera during extended use.

What must I already own for the elastic strap and zippered mesh pocket to be useful?

You need a compact point-and-shoot camera up to 4.5" x 3.2" x 1" and accessories such as SD cards, batteries or cables to use the elastic strap and zippered mesh pocket.

Will a larger legacy camera that exceeds the 4.5" x 3.2" x 1" limit still fit in the 5.25" x 3.75" x 2.5" case?

No, the manufacturer highlights specify the case is designed for mini cameras up to 4.5" x 3.2" x 1", so larger legacy models will not fit securely.
