Compact 96% Layout for Typing and Gaming

The Rosewill NEON S96 W is a 98-key mechanical keyboard with a 96% layout that keeps the number row, function row and navigation cluster while saving desk space. Linear Red switches provide smooth keystrokes without a tactile bump, and double-shot PBT keycaps resist shine over long sessions. Tri-mode connectivity covers USB-C wired, 2.4 GHz wireless and Bluetooth for use with Windows or macOS systems. A 3750 mAh rechargeable battery powers the board when cables are not wanted.

Suited for Compact Desk Setups Not for Dedicated

This keyboard fits builders who want full key coverage in a smaller footprint and value hot-swappable sockets for 3-pin or 5-pin switch changes without soldering. The multi-function knob adds quick control over volume, lighting and mode switching. Users who rely on dedicated macro columns, a separate numpad block or extensive onboard macro recording should look at larger form factors that provide those extra keys.

Hot-Swappable Sockets Decide Switch Flexibility

The single specification that determines whether this board matches a build is the hot-swappable PCB supporting both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches. If the owner wants to experiment with different linear, tactile or clicky switches later, the sockets make changes tool-free. If a fixed switch type is acceptable and hot-swap capability is not required, other keyboards without this feature may better fit the budget.

Questions about this item

How do I connect the keyboard using the three available interfaces and which mode shows on the OLED?

Plug the USB-C cable for wired mode, insert the 2.4 GHz dongle for wireless, or enable Bluetooth on your device and pair; the OLED screen displays the active connection mode in real time.

What upkeep do the hot-swappable sockets and PBT keycaps need over time?

Switches can be pulled and replaced with any 3-pin or 5-pin mechanical switch without soldering; PBT keycaps resist shine, so occasional gentle cleaning keeps legends crisp.

How long does the 3750 mAh battery last before I must recharge during heavy RGB use?

Battery life varies with brightness and effects, but the 3750 mAh cell is rated for extended wireless sessions; the OLED shows remaining percentage so you can recharge via USB-C before it empties.
