Compact 2.0 USB Speaker

The ROSON 1 ROSON-SP-001 is a 2.0 channel stereo speaker system powered by a 5 V USB connection and a 3.5 mm audio input. It delivers 6 W total output through two dynamic drivers in a black cabinet measuring 3.14 in x 3.14 in x 6.96 in and weighing .712 kg. A front-mounted volume control and headphone jack sit on the right satellite for quick access.

Desk users needing simple stereo sound

This set suits anyone who wants plug-and-play audio from a laptop, desktop, tablet or phone without installing drivers or an external power brick. Buyers who require deeper bass extension below 100 Hz, a higher signal-to-noise ratio than 65 dB, wireless streaming, or a dedicated subwoofer should consider other configurations.

Plug in and play

Installation is limited to connecting the USB cable for power and the 3.5 mm aux cable for signal; no software is required. The inter-speaker cable spans 80 cm while the USB and aux leads each reach 100 cm, so desk placement is flexible. A common issue is forgetting that the USB port supplies only power, so the 3.5 mm jack must also be connected for audio to pass through.

Questions about this item

Does the speaker need a separate power adapter or does it draw power from a USB port?

It draws power from a 5-volt USB port; no external adapter is included, but any 5V charger can be used if a computer port is unavailable.

What happens to the speaker output when headphones are plugged into the front 3.5mm jack?

The speakers mute automatically and audio routes to the headphones; the volume knob on the right satellite still controls the headphone level.

How can I verify the system is delivering stereo sound after connecting the USB and 3.5mm cables?

Play a stereo test track — left and right channels should be distinct from each satellite, the signal-to-noise ratio of 65 decibels means no audible hiss at normal listening volume.
