Three-pack emergency lights for home

This ROSSEX LED01 set contains three rechargeable LED flashlights that plug directly into a wall socket. Each unit serves as a night light, table lamp, handheld flashlight and automatic power-failure light. The pack suits households wanting one device that covers several everyday and emergency roles.

Automatic activation on power loss

When mains electricity fails the built-in sensor switches the light on instantly without any button press. A 50 lm white LED provides up to six hours of runtime from the internal lithium-ion battery. This hands-free response is the single feature that decides whether the product matches a buyer's outage plan.

Plug-in mounting with no wiring required

Installation is limited to inserting the unit into a standard socket; no tools, brackets or configuration are needed. The rectangular plastic body measures 5.43 by 1.81 by 1.52 inches and is not water resistant, so outdoor or damp locations should be avoided. A common mistake is leaving the switch in the wrong mode, which prevents automatic turn-on during an outage.

Questions about this item

How bright is 50 lumens when I actually need to use one of these during a blackout?

Fifty lumens gives a soft white glow that lights a small room, a hallway or a bedside area well enough to move around safely; it is not a spotlight and will not throw light across a large space.

What does the plug-in charging arrangement mean for daily use and readiness?

Each unit plugs directly into a standard wall socket and stays there charging its built-in lithium-ion cell, so it is always topped up and switches on automatically the moment mains power fails.

Will the 5.43 by 1.81 by 1.52 inch rectangular body block the second outlet on a double socket?

The compact rectangular shape fits a single gang outlet and typically leaves the neighbouring socket free, but very tight double-gang plates may need a short extension lead for the second port.
