  • 5 oz of 1200 aluminum oxide polish for final shine

Complete Four-Step Kit

This single-use grit pack contains four pre-measured stages for a 3-pound tumbler barrel. It supplies 3 ounces of 60/90 coarse silicon carbide, 3 ounces of 120/220 medium silicon carbide, 1.5 ounces of 500 fine silicon carbide and 1.5 ounces of 1200 aluminum oxide polish. Easy-to-follow instructions are included.

Simple Barrel Loading

Installation consists of opening each sealed pouch and adding the contents to the barrel in sequence with water and rocks. The pre-measured packets remove the need for weighing, so the main risk is skipping a step or running stages for too short a time. Thorough cleaning between stages prevents cross-contamination of grit sizes.

Ideal for 3-Pound Barrel Owners

This kit suits hobbyists who already own a compatible 3-pound rotary tumbler and want a ready-to-use consumable set. It is not for users with larger capacity barrels, vibratory machines or those who prefer to buy bulk grit and measure their own charges.

Questions about this item

How do I know the 60/90 coarse silicon carbide grit is working as intended after I start the first tumbling step?

The rocks will lose their sharp edges and begin to look uniformly dull as the coarse grit rounds them during the initial cycle.

What does the kit include and what must I supply separately for a 3-pound barrel?

The kit provides four pre-measured packs — 3 ounces each of 60/90 and 120/220 silicon carbide, plus 1.5 ounces each of 500 fine grit and 1200 aluminum oxide polish — with instructions; you supply the tumbler, barrel, water and rocks.

Which grit size should I choose if I only want the final polishing stage?

The 1.5-ounce pack of 1200 aluminum oxide polish is the last step; use it after the 500 fine pre-polish for a high-gloss finish.
