Product Identity

The Rubbermaid FGSH12EPLSM is a 12 gal half-round trash can made of powder-coated steel with rigid plastic components. It suits indoor commercial or residential spaces that need a fire-resistant, free-standing waste receptacle. The silver metallic finish fits professional environments.

Capacity And Opening Constraints

The 12 gal volume and fixed top opening set a hard limit on the waste items that fit inside. Bulky or oversized debris cannot enter the 17 1/2 in wide aperture. The stationary design means the unit cannot be wheeled to a collection point.

Installation And Common Issues

Placement is simple because the can stands freely on any level floor with no assembly required. The open top offers no odour containment or pest barrier. The powder-coated steel surface can show scratches or dents if struck by heavy objects.

Questions about this item

Is the 12 gal capacity right for a single office or a shared break room?

The 12 gal volume suits a single workstation or light-traffic area; higher-traffic shared spaces may need more frequent emptying.

What does the 32 in height mean when the can sits on the floor?

At 32 in tall the opening reaches roughly waist level for most adults, so users can drop waste in without bending.

With no lid and a simple top opening, what limits odour or debris escape?

The open top relies on prompt waste removal and the half-round shape to contain contents; no mechanical seal or filter is fitted.
