1/4-inch 303 stainless clamp collar
The Ruland CL-4-SS is a one-piece clamp-style shaft collar machined from 303 stainless steel. It fits a quarter-inch bore and provides axial location on precision shafts without marring the surface. Maintenance teams and OEM designers use it where corrosion resistance and clean release are required.
Upgrade from set-screw collars
A set-screw collar damages the shaft and can slip under vibration; this clamp collar distributes holding force evenly around the circumference. The jump is worth it when the assembly sees reversing loads, frequent adjustment or when shaft finish must stay intact for seals or bearings.
Limited by inch-series bore and screw size
The collar only accepts a quarter-inch shaft and uses a #4-40 stainless screw, so it cannot be adapted to metric shafts or larger diameters without a different part. Operating range spans minus forty to three hundred fifty degrees Fahrenheit, and the clearance diameter is point seven seven three inches. RoHS2 and REACH compliance are confirmed.

Questions about this item
What screw size and material secure the 1/4 in bore collar to the shaft?
A #4-40 stainless steel socket-head screw clamps the 303 stainless steel collar around the shaft.
How do you install the one-piece clamp collar without damaging the shaft?
Slide the collar onto the shaft, position it, then torque the #4-40 screw evenly; do not over-tighten or the clamp can distort the 1/4 in bore.
When should the collar be inspected or replaced in high-temperature use?
Check for screw loosening, bore wear or corrosion after thermal cycles near the 350 °F limit; replace if the clamp no longer holds the shaft securely.
