Ruland Manufacturing JD12/19-92Y Urethane Spider JC12/MJC19
A polyurethane jaw coupling insert for JC12 and MJC19 hubs rated at 9 in-lb torque and 8,000 RPM maximum speed
- Transmits 9 in-lb nominal torque reliably
- Withstands 18 in-lb deformation torque before failure
- Accommodates 0.9° angular and 0.004 in parallel misalignment
- Allows 0.02 in axial motion for thermal expansion
- Rated to 8,000 RPM for high-speed applications
Jaw Coupling Insert JC12/MJC19
This urethane spider fits JC12, JS12, MJC19 and MJS19 hubs with a 3/4 in outside diameter. It transmits power in inch-system machinery up to 8,000 RPM. The yellow polyurethane element suits general-purpose drives needing a fail-safe connection.
Sustained Load Behaviour
At 100 RPM the insert rates 0.0285 hp with a maximum torque of 9 in-lb and a deform torque of 18 lb-in. It tolerates 0.004 in parallel misalignment, 0.9 degrees angular misalignment and 0.02 in axial motion during continuous operation. The 92A durometer hardness maintains these limits without sudden stiffness changes.
Build and Mounting Implications
The polyurethane spider slides between compatible hubs without tools and the yellow colour aids visual inspection for wear. Fail-safe design keeps the drive engaged if the element fractures. No lubrication is required, reducing routine maintenance on the mounted assembly.

Questions about this item
How much heat does the 92A polyurethane spider generate when running continuously at 8,000 RPM?
The insert is rated for 8,000 RPM maximum speed; heat rise depends on the driven load and ambient conditions, so monitor hub temperature during the first hours of operation.
Which hubs must I already have for the JC12/MJC19 spider to fit?
Compatible hub part numbers are JC12, JS12, MJC19 and MJS19; the spider fits any of those four hub models.
Will the 0.9-degree angular misalignment limit protect my older shafts if they are slightly out of line?
The spider accommodates up to 0.9 degrees of angular misalignment and 0.004 inch parallel offset, reducing stress on older shafts within those limits.
