Rigid Coupling for 5 mm Shafts

This one-piece aluminium coupling joins two 5 mm round shafts with a 22 mm overall length. It transmits up to 2.72 N-m of torque at speeds up to 4,000 RPM. The clamp design suits precision motion assemblies and light-duty power transmission.

Check Shaft Diameter and Speed Limit

Verify that both shafts measure exactly 5 mm in diameter and have no keyways. Confirm the application will not exceed 4,000 RPM or 2.72 N-m of torque. Ensure the 15 mm outside diameter and 22 mm length fit within the available envelope.

Clamp Hardware Included

The integral clamp screws secure the coupling without separate fasteners. No additional keys, set screws or lubrication are supplied. California Proposition 65 warnings apply because the aluminium alloy contains listed chemicals.

Questions about this item

What is included with the Ruland MCLX-5-5-A coupling and what must be purchased separately?

The box contains the one-piece aluminum rigid shaft coupling with 5 mm round bores and a 22 mm overall length. Mounting hardware and shafts are not included and must be sourced separately.

Which version should I choose for a 5 mm shaft and 4,000 RPM application?

Select the MCLX-5-5-A model; its 5 mm bore diameter, 15 mm outside diameter and 4,000 RPM maximum speed match those requirements directly.

What does the 2.72 N-m torque rating mean when the coupling is installed?

It indicates the maximum continuous torque the aluminum coupling can transmit between two 5 mm shafts at up to 4,000 RPM without slipping or deforming.
