  • Power both drive sizes from the included external adapter

Dual-bay USB 2.0 drive enclosure

This enclosure accepts 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch SATA or IDE hard drives and solid-state drives in two independent slots. It connects to a host computer through a single USB 2.0 port and includes an integrated card reader for additional media access. The unit is designed for quick drive swaps without tools or internal installation.

Build integration and limitations

The dock draws power from an external adapter so it does not occupy a drive bay or require motherboard headers. USB 2.0 bandwidth limits transfer speeds, making the enclosure unsuitable for high-throughput tasks such as video editing or large-scale backups. Builders needing faster interfaces or single-drive simplicity should consider other solutions.

Questions about this item

Will the USB 2.0 connection bottleneck large file transfers on this enclosure?

The USB 2.0 interface limits sustained transfer speeds to the interface maximum, so large copies will run at that ceiling once any drive cache is full.

Does the enclosure generate noticeable heat or noise during all-day operation?

The unit has no fan and draws power only from the USB 2.0 port, so it runs silently and stays cool to the touch even with a 3.5 inch drive installed.
