5-Bay 2.5" SATA Docking Station

The Sabrent DS-5R15 is a USB 3.2 docking station that accepts up to five 2.5 inch SATA hard drives or SSDs. Each bay supports drives up to 15mm in height. A built-in 80mm cooling fan manages heat during heavy workloads. The unit connects via USB-C and includes an external 12V power adapter for stable operation.

Suits multi-drive workflows, not portable use

This dock suits users who need simultaneous access to several SATA drives for backups, cloning projects or large file archives. Hot-swap capability allows drive changes without rebooting. The AC power brick and five-bay chassis make it a desktop fixture, so buyers wanting a bus-powered, single-drive enclosure for travel should consider a different form factor.

USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 10Gbps host link

The external interface runs at 10Gbps over USB 3.2 Gen 2x1, setting the maximum throughput for every drive in the array. All five bays share this single uplink, so sustained transfer rates will divide when multiple drives are active. Verify that your host port supports USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 to reach the stated bandwidth.

Questions about this item

Will my older 2.5" SATA I drives work in this 5-bay USB 3.2 docking station?

Yes, the internal interface supports SATA I, II and III, so legacy 2.5" drives will function normally across all five bays.

How do I confirm each drive bay and the 80mm fan are operating correctly after connecting the dock?

LEDs on the front panel show power status, individual drive activity for every bay, and whether the cooling fan is running or switched off.

Does the package include the 12V power adapter and USB-C cable, or must I buy them separately?

The box contains the docking station, a 12V/3A external power supply and a USB 3.2 Gen 2x1 cable for immediate use.
