What this cable does

The Sabrent CB-306W is a six-foot USB 3.0 extension cable with a white 22AWG jacket. It adds reach between a computer or Windows tablet and standard peripherals such as hard drives, hubs, mice, keyboards, flash drives and printers.

Build and daily use

The cable uses A-Male to A-Female connectors and includes shielding that protects against electromagnetic and radio-frequency noise. This keeps the signal clear with less bandwidth loss so SuperSpeed transfers stay reliable during everyday use.

When the upgrade makes sense

It replaces a shorter or USB 2.0 cable when you need SuperSpeed rates up to 5 Gbps while keeping full backwards compatibility with USB 2.0 devices. Buyers who need more than six feet of reach or a different connector gender will not be served by this model.

Questions about this item

What data rate does the USB 3.0 interface on this CB-306W cable support in practice?

The USB 3.0 connection is rated for up to 5 Gbps SuperSpeed transfer, and it remains fully backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices at their native speeds.

What physical clearance does the A-Male to A-Female connector pair on this 6 ft white cable require?

Each end uses a standard USB-A shell; allow enough room for the plug body and the moulded strain relief behind it so the cable does not bend sharply at the port.

How do you install this Sabrent CB-306W extension, and what step is often missed?

Plug the male end into the host port, then connect your peripheral into the female end; the step people skip is seating both plugs fully until they click, otherwise the link falls back to USB 2.0 speeds.
