Prehistoric fish replica

Safari Ltd. adds the Coelacanth to its Wild Safari Dino series as a hand-painted figurine. The model represents the lobe-finned fish rediscovered in 1938 after being presumed extinct. It is made from phthalate-free and lead-free materials that meet safety standards. Educational details in five languages are printed on the underside.

Dimensions and scale

The figure measures 5.75 inches long by 3 inches high, which is 14.6 by 7.6 centimetres. This size suits display shelves, dioramas or hands-on play without needing a large footprint. No assembly or batteries are required. The fixed pose captures the distinctive fin structure of the species.

For collectors and young learners

Buyers wanting a scientifically accurate prehistoric marine animal for display or education will find this replica appropriate for ages three and up. Those who need articulated joints, electronic features or a larger centrepiece model should consider other options.

Questions about this item

What does the 5.75-inch length look like on a shelf?

The figure stretches about 14.6 cm from nose to tail, so it occupies roughly the footprint of a large smartphone laid flat.

How does the hand-painted finish hold up to handling?

The replica is phthalate-free, lead-free and meets all applicable safety standards, so the paint is non-toxic and durable for ages three and up.

What clearance does the 3-inch height need in a display case?

At 7.6 cm tall, the Coelacanth fits comfortably on any shelf with at least 8 cm of vertical space.
