Modern Runner for Indoor and Outdoor Use

The Safavieh Kalafun runner measures 3' x 5' and is made from 100% polyester with a machine-made construction. Its black and white colour scheme suits modern decor in entryways, patios, balconies or RV interiors. The lightweight design weighs 1.72 pounds and folds compactly for transport. A non-slip backing helps keep the rug in place on various surfaces.

Upgrade from Bulky or Single-Sided Rugs

This runner replaces heavier mats that are difficult to move or store between seasons. The reversible, open-weave construction allows airflow for quick drying after rain, while UV-resistant and abrasion-proof fibres handle sun exposure and foot traffic without fading. The jump is worth it when you need a single rug that works across patio, camping and indoor settings without retaining moisture.

Simple Setup with Minimal Effort

Unfold the rug and lay it flat; the non-slip backing grips the floor immediately without adhesives or tape. Maintenance involves shaking out debris or hosing it down, as the stain-resistant fibres do not require chemical cleaners. The main issue arises if the rug is left folded while damp, which can lead to mildew; always dry it fully before packing it away.

Questions about this item

What surface preparation does the 1.72-pound rug need for its non-slip backing to grip?

Place it on any clean, dry surface — patio, deck, balcony or indoor floor — and the integrated non-slip backing secures it without adhesives or tapes.

Which step do campers most often skip when unfolding the reversible rug?

They forget to shake out trapped sand or debris before laying it flat, so the open-weave construction can breathe and dry quickly.

How do I clean the polypropylene straw texture after a season of UV exposure?

Hose it off with water, shake excess moisture from the open weave, and let it air-dry; no chemical cleaners are required.
