3.6 V D-cell lithium thionyl chloride battery

The Saft LS33600 is a primary D-size cell delivering 3.6 volts and 17 Ah capacity. It suits equipment that demands very long service life and stable voltage in harsh environments. Buyers who need a rechargeable cell or a higher continuous current should choose a different chemistry.

Check voltage, current draw and physical fit

Verify that the device accepts a 3.6 V primary lithium cell and that its peak load stays below 400 mA with continuous draw under 250 mA. Confirm the compartment fits a 33 mm diameter by 61.5 mm height button-top cell. This battery cannot be recharged and must not be soldered directly.

Hermetic steel can with button top

The stainless steel case is hermetically sealed with a non-flammable, non-pressurised electrolyte. It operates from -60 °C to +85 °C and resists humid conditions with a low magnetic signature. The button-top termination allows simple spring-contact mounting, while the 10-year shelf life keeps spares ready.

Questions about this item

What comes in the box and do I need to buy a holder or contacts separately?

The battery is supplied as a single D-size cell with button-top termination; no holder, contacts or wiring are included.

Should I choose a different capacity or voltage version of the LS33600?

This model is only offered as a 3.6 V, 17 Ah D cell; no other capacity or voltage variants exist under this part number.

What does the 250 mA continuous current rating mean for my device?

The cell can sustain 250 mA continuously and deliver 400 mA pulses, so it suits low-drain metering or telemetry loads but not high-drain motors or transmitters.
