Compact USB Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Adapter

The sakose USB adapter adds 150 Mbps wireless networking and Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity to desktops or laptops through a single USB 2.0 port. It supports IEEE 802.11n, g and b standards on the 2.4 GHz band for basic internet access and peripheral pairing.

Low-Power Operation on 2.4 GHz

The RTL8723BU chip draws 100 mA to 200 mA depending on mode with Wi-Fi RF power up to 16 dBm and Bluetooth RF power up to 10 dBm. Receiver sensitivity reaches -87 dBm at 11 Mbps and -65 dBm at higher rates. The 2 dBi antenna provides indoor range up to 100 metres and outdoor range up to 200 metres.

Steady Performance Within Thermal Limits

Operating temperature spans -20 °C to 45 °C so the adapter maintains its 150 Mbps link and 3 Mbps Bluetooth throughput during extended sessions. CSMA/CA with ACK and DSSS spread spectrum keep the connection stable under continuous load without thermal throttling.

Questions about this item

How do I install the sakose USB Wi-Fi Adapter 150 Mbps + Bluetooth 4.0 and what step do people often miss?

Plug the adapter into a USB 2.0 port, then install the driver for the RTL8723BU chip on Windows 7, 8 or 10; the step people miss is installing the driver before expecting the 150 Mbps Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 4.0 link to work.

What maintenance or replacement will the sakose USB Wi-Fi Adapter 150 Mbps + Bluetooth 4.0 need later?

No scheduled maintenance is required; if the RTL8723BU chip or the USB 2.0 connector fails after prolonged use, the whole adapter would need replacement.

What limit appears first on the sakose USB Wi-Fi Adapter 150 Mbps + Bluetooth 4.0 during sustained use?

The USB 2.0 bus caps throughput well below the 150 Mbps Wi-Fi rate, so sustained transfers hit the bus bottleneck before the radio or the 2 dBi antenna reaches its limit.
