Salsbury 2240AP Letter Box

The Salsbury 2240AP is a surface-mounted letter box built from steel and extruded aluminum with a powder-coated finish that resists corrosion. It is designed for private access with a front-loading door and includes a commercial lock plus two keys. This unit suits homeowners or small businesses needing a basic, weather-resistant mail receptacle.

Replaces an open slot or unsecured box

Upgrading from an open mail slot or an unsecured box adds a locking door and a durable metal body that protects mail from theft and weather. The jump is worth it when you need a simple, surface-mounted solution with a commercial lock included. It does not suit buyers who need a larger parcel capacity or a recessed wall installation.

Questions about this item

What surface is the 2240 letter box designed to mount on?

The 2240 letter box is surface mounted, meaning it attaches directly to a flat exterior wall or vertical surface using the pre-drilled holes in the back of the aluminum housing.

How do I install the lock on the 2240 letter box, and what step is often missed?

The 2240 letter box includes a commercial lock pre-installed; the step often missed is testing both provided keys in the lock before finalising the mounting screws to ensure smooth operation.
