Questions about this item

What are the exact wall opening dimensions needed to recess-mount the 19-inch-high aluminum box?

The unit measures 19 inches tall, 15 inches wide and 7 1/2 inches deep, so the rough opening must accommodate those outer dimensions plus any trim clearance.

How do you secure the included commercial lock during installation, and what step is often missed?

The lock cylinder threads through the front door from the outside; the retaining nut must be tightened with a wrench so the cam engages the strike — hand-tight alone lets the lock spin.

How often should the powder-coated aluminum finish be touched up to prevent corrosion?

Inspect the coating annually; if bare metal shows, clean the spot and apply a matching aluminum-rated spray paint to maintain the protective layer.
