Purpose-built camera phone for serious mobile

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G G998U targets users who want a single device that captures 108MP stills and pulls 33MP frames from 8K video without switching modes. Its AT&T-only 5G connectivity and 128GB storage suit subscribers on that network who prefer no-contract flexibility. The 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED panel with 3200 x 1400 resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus serves creators reviewing high-detail content on the go.

Sustained performance

The Snapdragon 888 SM8350 processor runs Android 12 with Samsung One UI, driving a display that scales between 10Hz and 120Hz to match workload and conserve the 5000mAh battery during long sessions. The 30-plus point functionality check confirms thermal stability and radio performance under continuous 5G use, so video recording, streaming and multitasking remain consistent without the throttling typical of shorter benchmarks.

Straightforward activation

Insert an AT&T SIM, power on and follow the on-screen setup; the device arrives unlocked for that carrier and passes the 30-plus point check, so most buyers activate without issues. The package includes a charging cable but omits the power adapter, headphones, original box and manual, so users must supply their own USB-C charger and audio solution. Buyers who need a second SIM slot, expandable storage or a different carrier should consider other models.

Questions about this item

Does the Snapdragon 888 chip run hot or noisy under all-day load?

The Snapdragon 888 is passively cooled; no fan means zero noise, and the large 5000mAh battery with adaptive 10–120Hz display helps manage thermals during extended use.

What must I already own to charge and activate this AT&T-locked unit?

You need a USB-C power adapter and an active AT&T SIM or compatible MVNO plan; the box includes only a charging cable.

Will my older USB-A chargers and micro-SD cards work with this S21 Ultra?

USB-A chargers work via a USB-C cable but at slower speeds; the phone lacks a micro-SD slot, so external storage must be cloud or USB-C OTG.
