Unlocked Galaxy S23 Plus 5G

The Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus 5G S916U is a fully unlocked Android smartphone with 256GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM. It ships new in Green and carries Android 13 with Samsung One UI. The handset targets buyers who want a flagship-class bar phone without a carrier contract.

Upgrade path from older Android flagships

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor replaces prior-generation silicon and delivers higher sustained performance for gaming and multitasking. The 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED panel adds HDR support and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection over earlier models. The jump is worthwhile when your current phone struggles with modern apps or lacks 5G connectivity.

256GB storage and 8GB RAM headroom

The 256GB capacity comfortably holds large photo libraries, offline media and heavy applications without constant offloading. Eight gigabytes of RAM keeps multiple background tasks resident for fast switching. Buyers who record extensive 8K video or install very large game collections will eventually fill the fixed storage.

Questions about this item

What size nano-SIM tray does the S916U accept?

The S916U uses a standard nano-SIM tray; eject it with the supplied pin, insert the card with the gold contacts facing down, and push the tray fully home until it clicks — the most common mistake is stopping at the first resistance instead of seating it completely.

How is the SIM tray inserted on the S916U, and what step do people miss?

Insert the ejection pin into the small hole on the lower-left edge, pull the tray out, place the nano-SIM with contacts down, then slide the tray back in until it clicks flush — many users stop at the first click and leave the tray slightly proud.

When will the 256 GB internal storage need offloading, and is there a card slot?

The 256 GB UFS storage has no micro-SD slot, so once free space runs low you must move photos, videos or large apps to cloud or a computer; there is no user-replaceable memory card to add capacity later.
