Rugged smartphone for frontline work

The Samsung Galaxy XCover Pro SM-G715U is a rugged Android smartphone built for frontline workers who need a device that survives dust, water and repeated drops. It carries an IP68 rating and passes 21 MIL-STD-810G tests plus 1.5 metre drop tests. The 6.3 inch display runs at 1080 x 2340 resolution and supports glove-friendly touch input.

Simple setup with removable battery

Activation follows standard Verizon smartphone onboarding; insert a nano-SIM, sign in to a Google account and apply any mobile-device-management profile your organisation uses. The removable 64 GB battery cover lets you swap cells without tools, eliminating downtime when a shift runs long. No specialised installation steps are required beyond typical Android provisioning.

Suits field teams needing one-hand durability

This model fits workers who need a single device for scanning, communication and data entry in wet, dusty or high-drop environments. The 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage handle core business apps but limit heavy multitasking or large local media libraries. Buyers who want more storage, higher RAM or a consumer-focused camera should look at something else.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the 6.3" display and IP68 rating are functioning after first setup?

Power on the device and verify the 1080 x 2340 screen lights up without dead pixels. Test water resistance by briefly rinsing under fresh water — IP68 rating means it survives immersion — then dry all ports thoroughly before charging.

What accessories come in the box versus what must be purchased separately for the SM-G715U?

The phone ships with a removable battery, USB-C cable and charger. A rugged case, screen protector, extra batteries or charging cradle are sold separately depending on your work environment.

Which storage capacity should I choose for the Galaxy XCover Pro on Verizon?

This model provides 64 GB internal storage. If you store large offline maps, media or industry apps, add a microSD card — the slot supports expansion so you can increase space later.
