Second Paper Cassette

The SAMSUNG ML-S5012A adds a 520-sheet paper cassette to compatible laser printers. It is designed for offices and workgroups that need extra capacity without swapping trays during long print runs. The unit installs as a second drawer beneath the standard cassette. Buyers who need more than one additional tray or who use unsupported printer models cannot use this accessory.

Thermals Noise Power

The cassette is a passive mechanical tray with no motor, fan or heating element of its own. It draws no electrical power and produces no audible noise during operation. Heat generation is limited to the printer mechanism above it. Buyers who expect active cooling or powered paper handling will not find those features here.

Compatible Models

This cassette is listed for the ML-4512ND, ML-5012ND and ML-5017ND printers. It fits only those specific model numbers and cannot be used with other Samsung or third-party devices. Verify the exact model number on your printer before purchase. Builders who own a different model must select the cassette designated for that machine.

Questions about this item

How is the 520-sheet cassette installed on the ML-5012ND and what step is often missed?

Slide the cassette into the lower tray slot until it clicks; the step often missed is extending the paper guides to match the sheet size before loading.

What maintenance will the cassette need after extended use?

Clean the feed rollers with a lint-free cloth when misfeeds increase; replace the cassette if the rollers become worn or the plastic cracks.

What limit appears first when printing continuously from the 520-sheet cassette?

The 520-sheet capacity is the first limit; the printer pauses for a refill once the cassette empties.
