34-inch OLED UWQHD monitor for gamers

The 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 uses a 1800R curved QD-OLED panel with a 3440 x 1440 resolution and a 175Hz refresh rate. A 0.03 ms response time and 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio deliver deep blacks and minimal motion blur. The 21:9 aspect ratio suits both competitive titles and immersive single-player games.

FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible

Variable refresh rate support works across AMD and NVIDIA graphics cards, reducing tearing and stutter without extra configuration. HDR10 support expands dynamic range for compatible content. The integrated Tizen OS provides direct access to streaming apps when the PC is off.

180 W maximum draw with 100-240 V external adapter

Two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 handle 175 Hz at full resolution, while two USB 3.0 ports connect peripherals. The stand adjusts 120 mm in height, tilts -2° to +20°, and pivots ±3° for ergonomic positioning. Built-in 5 W stereo speakers cover basic audio needs.

Questions about this item

Will the OLED panel need any maintenance to prevent burn-in after long gaming sessions?

The panel uses OLED technology with a 0.03 ms response time and 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Samsung includes pixel-shift and screen-saver routines in the Tizen OS to reduce static-image retention. No user-replaceable parts are involved.

What limit appears first during extended 175 Hz gameplay — thermal throttling or brightness drop?

Maximum brightness is 250 cd/m² and the monitor draws up to 180 W. The external power adaptor and passive cooling are sized for continuous operation at 175 Hz, so brightness remains stable before any thermal limit is reached.

How loud is the cooling and how much heat does it add to a room during all-day use?

The monitor has no internal fan; cooling is completely passive. At the 180 W maximum draw it emits warm air from the top vents but produces no audible noise. Surface temperatures stay comfortable to the touch.
