Rugged 8-inch tablet for field work

The Galaxy Tab Active2 SM-T397 is an 8-inch Android 7.1 Nougat tablet built to MIL-STD-810G and IP68 standards for drops, shocks, dust and water. It targets workers in transportation, manufacturing, field service and public safety who need a dependable device for inventory, work orders and field reports in harsh environments. The Knox platform adds defense-grade security with fingerprint and facial recognition that works with gloves.

16 GB storage and 3 GB memory headroom

The tablet ships with 16 GB of flash memory and 3 GB of RAM driven by an Exynos 7 Octa 7870 octa-core processor at 1.60 GHz and a Mali-T830 MP1 graphics controller. That combination handles business apps, GPS navigation and web-based workflows on the 1280 x 800 display, while the 16 GB capacity will fill quickly if large media libraries or offline map packs are stored locally.

S Pen and 4G connectivity for daily use

An included S Pen enables precise input and signatures even in wet or gloved conditions, and the 4G radio keeps the device online when Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n/ac is unavailable. The 14.71 oz chassis integrates a lithium polymer battery and ships with an AC adapter, so the tablet is ready for shift-long deployments without extra accessories.
