Product identity and target user

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active5 is an 8.0 inch rugged tablet with 6GB memory and 128GB flash storage. It runs Android and includes 5G LTE connectivity for mobile workers. The WUXGA display offers 1920 x 1200 resolution on a TFT panel. Front and rear cameras provide 5.0 MP and 13.0 MP capture respectively.

Sustained operation characteristics

The device is built for continuous field use with its enterprise-grade construction. Android manages background tasks across the 6GB memory during extended shifts. The 128GB flash storage retains data without moving parts under vibration. 5G LTE maintains network sessions across handovers while the TFT panel remains readable in bright conditions.

Interface and connectivity limits

The unlocked 5G LTE modem connects to compatible carrier bands without contract restrictions. WLAN provides local wireless access where cellular coverage is weak. The USB-C port handles charging and data transfer for peripherals. Android version determines app compatibility and security update duration for the platform.

Questions about this item

How much power does the 8.0" WUXGA display and 5G modem draw during a full workday?

The tablet runs on its internal battery; the 1920 x 1200 panel and 5G connectivity are optimised for all-day field use without a tethered charger.

What accessories are required to use the 13.0 MP rear camera and 5.0 MP front camera for site inspections?

No extra hardware is needed — both cameras are built in and ready for photos, video calls or barcode scanning straight out of the box.

Will the 6GB memory and 128GB storage handle the same rugged apps I ran on my older 4GB tablet?

Yes, the 6GB RAM and 128GB flash storage provide more headroom for current Android enterprise apps and offline maps than a 4GB device.
